At Lir Beauty Rooms in Porturlin, County Mayo, clients can choose from manicure, facials, eye treatments, makeup, threading, tanning and waxing.

A manicure request can begin with a few straightforward preferences: the length you want to keep, the outline you enjoy and the kind of finish you have in mind. Explain whether any existing product needs attention before the new treatment. Where more than one manicure format is offered, ask about the differences so the appointment reflects the experience and result you are actually seeking.

For a treatment centred on the existing nails, explain the finish you enjoy and the amount of ongoing upkeep you want to plan. A subtle appearance can be just as intentional as a stronger colour. Ask how the named treatment fits your intended result, rather than treating every nail service as interchangeable. That keeps the conversation tied to the actual appointment you are considering.

A return appointment is a useful moment to reflect on the previous finish. Consider whether the length felt comfortable, whether the shape suited everyday tasks and whether you enjoyed the colour for the whole time you wore it. Keep the parts that worked and explain the one detail you would change. A small adjustment can give a familiar style a different feel without requiring a completely new idea every time you arrange a nail visit.

If the visit forms part of preparations for travel or a celebration, place it thoughtfully within the wider schedule. Explain the intended date and the kind of finish you have in mind when arranging the appointment. Avoid assuming that extra work can be added on arrival. A clear request gives the business the information needed to discuss a suitable slot and the services you want.
